Azhar Vadi, 35, is an activist, journalist and co-founder Salaamedia to highlight various crises taking place in South African communities.
Salaamedia runs a radio station which focuses on the plight of the Palestinian community in Israel and the continued breakdown of public services in South Africa.
Through the Salaam Foundation, which was started shortly after Salaamedia in 2016, he has helped to distribute computers, stationery, school clothes, medical supplies and food hampers to communities across Gauteng.
Azhar believes the job of a journalist is not only to report, but to mobilise communities, and therefore leads several motivational talks and workshops across Gauteng.
