Khosi Skhosana, 25, has created a safe space for kids in Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga, to go for assistance with school work, extramural activities, guidance, a meal to eat, and lessons on how to grow their own food.
Skhosana does her work through her NGO, Ikghono Lelutjha, which she started to keep young children off the streets.
During the week and over weekends, Skhosana runs programmes to help the children out with school homework, teach them about health, how to take care of one another, drawing, poetry and physical activities which include singing, dancing, netball and soccer.
Skhosana has a vegetable garden and uses it to teach the children the importance of growing their own vegetables and looking after the environment. She uses the very same vegetables from the garden to feed the children.
