Kimon Bisogno, 34, is a community worker and businesswoman who works in several disadvantaged communities in and around Cape Town, feeding the homeless and helping children.
As a yoga coach, she works with children in disadvantaged communities, teaching them meditation and breathing techniques to cope with stress and anxiety. Â
She runs a pizzeria in Observatory, Cape Town, called Ferdinando’s, which empowers mental health patients to express themselves creatively through art and music, and the Obs Pasta Kitchen which serves a bowl of pasta to the homeless every Wednesday as a reward for cleaning up the community, painting and weeding.
Kimon left her corporate career in marketing more than four years ago to start the City Bowl Laughter Club, which pioneered laughing therapy in Cape Town to help corporates deal with the stress of modern society.
