Lindokuhle Peace Kubeka, 24, is a community activist who runs initiatives to address the school dropout rate, and reintegrate convicts back into his community of Tsakana, Brakpan.
He helps establish ex-convict support groups and holds regular talks to encourage them. Through his foundation, he has started several community initiatives that distribute sanitary pads, provide tertiary education opportunities and run a soup kitchen.
His regular â€œmen of integrityâ€ talks, also known as Umkhosi wamadoda, has attracted a large following. Lindokuhle hosts “not just a pretty face” talks in primary schools, to help decrease teenage pregnancy. His “hands of mercy” shoes and clothing donation drive has collected more than 1 000 items of clothing in the past year.
Lindokuhle also hosts regular career expos in his community to raise awareness for matrics about the opportunities available to them.
