Sibusiso Nqunqeka, 28, is a LGBTI activist and co-founder of the Khulani Khayelitsha Queer Hub.
As a black, gay man, Sibusiso was taunted and abused his entire life for being homosexual but has lived his life unashamed of who he is and has made it his mission to also help other people come out and be proud of who they are.
He co-founded the Khulani Khayelitsha Queer Hub in 2009 as a safe space where people would meet and discuss their challenges, as men sleeping with other men, and to support each other in their continued struggle, as they are ostracised by their communities.
Sibusiso speaks on radio to promote human rights for the LGBTI community and works with well established organisations – such as the Triangle Project, Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation and Health4Men – to promote sexual health.
