Vhahangwele Charity Munyai, 26, runs a non-profit organisation in rural Folovhodwe Village, Limpopo, that distributes sanitary pads and shoes to young girls, provides study material and pays school fees.
Vhahangwele, a trained biokineticist, founded the Mbeu Community Development project because she wanted to ensure that the community was not forgotten. It has hosted several successful career exhibitions and fun walks, and delivered more than 500 sanitary towels to girls in the community.
Vhahangwele has also personally raised enough money to fund the university application fees of ten students, giving them the opportunity to study and find jobs.
She plans to expand the organisation in the near future to also assist with the distribution of school uniforms, in order to ensure that no child has an excuse to miss class.
