Ziningi Hlophe, 28, is a senior associate at Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg who has used her position in the law firm to form a network that deals with transformation and inspires young leaders within the firm.
At work, Hlophe specialises in corporate and commercial law, reorganisations and cross-border transactions across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a specific focus on global mergers and acquisitions, in-country and cross-border private equity transactions, as well as providing corporate law and corporate governance advice.
Despite this, she still co-founded the Webber Wentzel Leadership Network, an internal firm initiative that aims to create a platform for informed dialogue to inspire, educate, and support the development of leaders. Previous speakers at the Leadership Network’s events include prominent human rights lawyer George Bizos SC, anti-apartheid veteran Ahmed Kathrada, and former Constitutional Court Justice Edwin Cameron.
Ziningi also assisted in founding Khensani’s Collection, a non-profit organisation working with at risk children and teenagers in Diepsloot. She is a mentor and an activist for transformation and equality.
